So this is my husband that I have been separated from for three years it’s devastating to say the least. My question, and I realize nobody really knows, is how long do we have with him? He also has portal hypertension and vercies.

Find Care & Housing
If it is pancreatic cancer that has metastasized, and he's been getting aggressively treated, the very most would be 2-ish years, but seems like he has so many other issues it may be less than that.

My FIL and husband's Grandmother both passed from PC within 2 years. My friend's husband currently is approaching the 2-yr mark and he's gone rapidly downhill despite good treatment and will to live. A few others I've known have never made it past 2 years.

A lot will depend on his age, his health prior to all those problems, and how long it took him to start getting treatment, and what type of treatment -- if he's even getting any. Also, his mental state and will to live will have a bearing on how long he hangs on for.

Is his liver cirrhosis from drinking? If so, then his health leading up to all of this was already dismal. There is no way to know for sure "how long"... I'm so sorry for this awful diagnosis. I wish you peace in your heart on this journey.

So sorry, I'm sure this is hard.

I think now it all depends on him and his mindset, and if he wants to carry on.

My MIL was giving 3 months to live and went into a coma that night, passed 24 hours later, she just gave up once she got the diagnosis, and didn't want anymore pain. I can't blame her.

So sorry, 😔

You are correct. No one really knows. If he wants an answer to this his MD can give him an educated guess. That's about as good as it gets. I am so very sorry.
