For the time being, she would need help with errands, meds, and companionship a few hours a day, maybe 2 days a week. I'll need to do this initially w/out my mother present, since she will refuse any assistance. Ideally, I would like to introduce this person as a "friend of mine" and then integrate into helping my mother.

I would ask if you would always have the same caregiver.I think that is very important especially if your loved one has a memory problem.Ask what duties the caregiver can and cannot do.All the agencies I know the caregivers cannot physically give the meds-only a reminder.
