Have POA for mom she can't decide on operation or hospice yet.  Don't know if she can decide. She is 89 and doesn't want breathing tube even for a day. Or two so she says she can't make decision yet. Can I just send her to hospice. She is rational.

She decided on the operation. But i am so drained from her this past few months i am not going up there for the operation. This will be the first time I wasnt at the hospital for an operation or just hospitaization. She has has four or five over the last eight years. But I don't care anymore. I have not much left emotionally to give her. At least not now.

Duplicate question. Barbara, it's hard but you cannot make a decision without medical POA.

You said before that she had revoked your POA. And unless it is a DPOA with medical, that is durable, unless she's incompetent you don't have that right.

You must be talking about someone else. She never revoked my PO A. It is a medical PO A.

If she is rational, her wishes are what are important. Sometimes we just have to wait when it comes to older people. This is a huge decision for her. Maybe a trusted friend or family member can help her think it through without pressure.
