I agree, luckylu. GS cookies used to taste better. Now, they are made with cheaper ingredients, so the taste goes down. The boxes are smaller, the cookies are smaller, but the prices are higher.

NHWM,
The taste was about the same but the cookies didn't have much filling and the cookies were smaller and there were only 2 sleeves.
When I sold Girl Scout cookies,if you sold a certain amount, over a hundred boxes, you got to go to camp for free for a week or two.
The little girl's Mother did mention that their troop was saving to go to a special camp out of state so I think they're still doing some kind of fundraising.

LuckyLu,

I wonder if they changed their recipe. I love Girl Scout cookies!

I can’t remember what I sold them for. It wasn’t a whole lot of money. The scouts don’t make a lot of money on selling cookies.

They need to come up with additional fundraisers.

Dessert showed up at our door tonight~
A little Brownie was selling Girl Scout cookies and asked if we wanted to buy some.
We ordered the Thin Mints and peanut butter kind and then she went out to her wagon and grabbed them so we got the cookies right away....at $6.00 a box.
They're tasty but nothing like they were when I used to sell them and they were alot cheaper then too,,,$1,25 a box,I think I remember....

Faking wings. I had some rotisserie chicken in the freezer. Took out a baggie, put some Red Hot on it wrapped it in foil to warm in up. Sweet potato will be done in about 20 minutes will put the chicken in in ten minutes or so. Maybe have some just cold salad/spinach with it.

I am rooting for the Eagles they are going into half time up ten points. Half time show just getting ready to start. Can't root for the Chiefs, they are the same division as the Broncos!

cw - freeze some. Soup keeps well in the freezer. Surely there is some soup-type cold weather coming in this winter yet.

The soup is good.... but there sure is a lot of it 🤣

I am really debating on whether I want to go out to pick up wings somewhere. Maybe I should just think healthier and have a salad with a sweet potato for supper. I don't care to get into the mess that the grocery will be, or go out and wait in line to pick up wings at the bar.

That's good to know, cashew. Thank you.😊 I was planning on getting an air fryer once I move and R loves baked potatoes. I would never have thought to put them together.

gladimhere,
for crispy skin on a baked potato you can use an air fryer.
(3)
Report

No, they don’t but the inside is moist, soft and fluffy. I use them for baked potato soup, so I don’t need the crispy skin for that.

I do like crispy skin too.

Do baked potatoes come out with crispy skin? That is how I like mine.

One of my favorite things to cook in the instant pot is baked potatoes. They come out perfectly every time!

Soup works in the instant pot. I have done that. I generally do soup in a crock or stovetop.

I don't think I would make a good instant pot cook. I enjoy taking the time to cook, the smells to enjoy and savor for a few hours when making a soup or chili, especially.

My son has one he was so proud of wings he made. I didn't tell him the truth, but I thought they were awful.

Since my kitchen is packed, I will have to see if I can find wings to buy tomorrow.

I had Progresso chicken noodle.I

I wonder if those uncooked beans should have at least been soaked overnight or canned?

OK I have a plan - tomorrow I'll cook up some more ground beef, add a bunch of mixed veg and beef broth and turn the whole mess into a chili vegetable soup. I think that should be pretty good!

Sorry, cw. Guess you need to trash that recipe and find a new one!

I tried an instant pot recipe for chili that I found on line and it's..... not good.
I was skeptical when they said you could just toss the uncooked beans in with the browned meat and veggies and I was right to be because everything is cooked to mush except for the beans. Oh, and the step where you thicken things up with some masa or cornmeal really exacerbated the whole mushy thing.
And I have a whole pot of this stuff.

Sendhelp,
I know the cost is insane but right now, Mom is dying. So, I ordered delivery.
I'll be able to shop again soon.
It was a flip on the app that happened to the delivery driver. No harm, no foul...lots of eggs.

Cashew,
To solve the delivered to the wrong address problem, under delivery instructions, add "Check with the resident to confirm you are at the right address".

We are forced to go in person to shop now. The prices are not just higher with instacart, it is price gouging and fraud. It was a luxury we could not afford.

How do I explain this?
Simply put, the exact same groceries at Costco were $64.00 less in person shopping. (Order was $142.52).
That was without the tax, service fees, tip, and membership fees for free delivery via Instacart.

Even if you shop the "In store prices", like Sprouts, they charge you more by mistake when you buy at the butcher counter. ($17.00 is now $20.00).
Difference was refunded but had to get it corrected.

Who wants to spend $250.00 per month extra on groceries, ever?

Hindsight is 20/20.

Yesterday I ordered instacart delivery for groceries. They left me someone else's order by mistake. So, I tried to contact them and the guy somewhere in corporate land said they couldn't pick up the wrong order but will send out my order, again.
So, I would be left to try and find time and use my gas to donate or dispose of what was left on my porch. It was obviously for a superbowl party..a lot of crappy food. lol
Later, the lady who dropped off the wrong one came to swap...great! I got my order, they got their order...all is right with the world. Until, I went to get the mail today and there was another order matching my first one on the porch. LOL
I will be making egg dishes because I now have 4 dozen eggs.

It depends on the brand of sour cream. For instance, Daisy brand ingredients list only cultured cream. That is the only brand that I use.

I do love Greek yogurt! It can be a great substitute for sour cream.

Cashew,

Thanks for the tip!
