See a Certified Elder Care attorney who's versed in Medicaid planning for guidance. Some states allow Miller Trusts to be set up for excess earnings to go into in order to qualify for assistance in long term care. If not, find a board and care facility for mom that she can afford on her income. They are generally less expensive.
