Is Medicare paying for Skilled Nursing? If not, it's very expensive out of pocket and requires a 3 day acute care admission for eligibility. So check it out before she gets moved and then you find out you're on the line for payment. (My dad was in a SNF and his Medicare supplement didn't have a co-pay. We got an informational notice that looked like a bill. Which claimed we owed $7500. I got a person from the Medicare supplement company Anthem and we did a conference call in which the facility was assured that my dad had coverage and no copay. The next month we got a similar notice but it wasn't called a bill, but Notice of Potential Liability for Care.)
