Twenty-five years ago, when my father was in the final stages of his battle with cancer, my mother, two brothers, two sisters, and I were able to care for him until he passed away. A few years later, when my mother’s health began to decline, we all pitched in again. However, by this time, many of us had families of our own, making it much more challenging to coordinate the necessary care. So, we sought additional help and found a wonderful woman who greatly assisted us by filling in the gaps we couldn’t manage.
A few years after my mother passed, I relocated to North Carolina. I quickly noticed many people here in similar situations just like my parents, with their children living hundreds of miles away. One of the blessings we had with my mother is most of us were only a few minutes away. Even with this proximity, our own family commitments made it increasingly difficult to care for her.
Now that my kids are grown, I decided to contribute positively to my new community by exploring homecare services to get involved with. Initially, I found it challenging to differentiate between various services until I came across Hallmark. Once I reviewed the business model, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for.

With the aging population here and the continuous influx of new residents, the demand for senior care is substantial and only expected to increase. Since moving to this area a few years ago, I have quickly recognized this need and see it as a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community that has so warmly welcomed me.
