I think that comes when we finally internalize their/our mortality, it's not that we don't care so much as that we accept the inevitability.

Bundle up and get outside Nacy, it really does help.

My body is operating on DST, I'm waking up well before 6 and nodding off before 10, I'm looking to changing the clock so I'm back in sync with everyone else.

There is one flower blooming on the ever challenging Bouganvilla.
There is a fresh Daffodil popped out of the ground with ready to bloom buds.
There are some sunny days, and more to come.

It is Spring to me.

nacy - he probably would love it but any truck is a working vehicle for him and they don't stay looking nice long. Now the old jag gets babied.

cw - snowing here too the last few days Ugh!!!

nacy - minus 27 F (-34C) here at night a few nights, with minus 11F (-24C) in the daytime Going up in few days thankfully. I'm happy to stay indoors.

itrr - Oh my goodness - that's a hot summer day for us. I'm OK till about 83 F then I'm done.

cw - those are the type of cars R buys as he can fix most problems and is good at assessing the vehicle. They can give you very good value for your $$$s. Farm vehicles get beaten up.

Send - when I took my car in for an oil change and to put on the snow tires they told me I needed a complete exhaust system and maybe some other work too, so I figured it was better to put that money toward something newer. I'm sure it would still be a great car for someone who is able to fix things on the cheap, the mileage is pretty low, but the road salt used here is not kind to cars.

Congratulations CWillie!

Loved, loved, loved best of all cars was my 1981 Toyota Corolla.
Because that's the one I bought from seeing it traveling down the freeway
with so few miles, and 'they' said it couldn't be done!

My car is 2005 = 20 years old and still runs, looks good.

What was the factor that made you buy a newer car?

PamZ Hope all is well and warm now and you and hub are over your bugs.

nacy - seems light light therapy of one sort or another helps many things.

Well done, cw. 👏 I know what you mean!!! But heated seats and steering wheel will make up for a lot of learning. Last car I bought has heated seats but not steering wheel I wish I had that option!!! At 40 below it makes a big difference. (Not that it goes down to 40 below here.)

I picked up my new (to me) car today, it is going to be a steep learning curve going from a 15 year old corolla with crank windows to a car with an instrument panel that looks like something from Futurama. But I've got heated seats and steering wheel!

Our temps here this morning were -6. The main level heat pump could not keep up and even with the fireplace on and a serious space heater we could not keep the temp above 60 until about 11 am. Luckily the pump for the 2 story end was chugging away so we had heat there,, but hubs and I are both getting over some respiratory crap ( he saw the Dr yesterday, I was feeling better) and did not need this at all. I could not get warm all day, and so not feeling as good as I was yesterday. This heat pump issue has only happened once before,, thank god! We sort of expected this, but still!

My thermometer reads -22C this morning (-8F). But hey, at least there is sun and it's not snowing!

I was watching a video of someone skating on the streets of New Orleans, now that's gotta suck for all the people who don't have the infrastructure for that. Not to mention all the snowbirds who went south for a little warmth... doh!

You could, if you wanted to CW, get out of bed, dress warm, serve hot chocolate with marshmallow on top to the people running the snow blowers.

Nah, I wouldn't do this either. Lol.

Do what I would do.

That is, follow Golden's advice to stay in bed.

When you're lying in bed in the morning listening to the sound of snowblowers should you get up or snuggle back under the covers?

Belated happy birthday Llama.
I was away from forum. Husband was in hospital again before New Year and again after.
So frustrated with our system which deals only with immediate problem and not looking at other solutions or treatments. It seems to me nobody looks at whole person, just quick fix by adding or increasing drugs.
Thank you for asking, it helps to be part of the group which understands our plight.
